Pricing your items fairly can help you achieve better sell-through.

There isn't one type of item that is guaranteed to sell, but shoppers are generally looking for quality, current and wearable pieces that are in great condition.Think clean, stylish and seasonal clothing, desirable brands, quality basics, dresses, denim, jackets and pieces that are easy to wear.Presentation matters too. Freshly laundered, pressed or steamed clothing that's easy to browse is much more likely to catch a shopper's eye.

What items can I sell?

We accept quality women's, men's and children's clothing, along with shoes, handbags and accessories, provided they are clean, in good condition and suitable for resale.Please check every item carefully before bringing it in. Items with stains, strong odours, damage, missing buttons or broken zips may be considered unsellable and may need to be removed from the shop floor.If an item does have a fault that you're happy to sell, please clearly note the fault on the pricing tag.

How should I price my items?

When pricing your garments, consider the age, condition, brand and whether the item is brand new or preloved.As a general guide, brand-new items with tags may sell for around 50% of their original retail price. Preloved pieces around 1–5 years old may be priced around 25–35% of the original price, while older pieces may be around 15–25%, depending on their style and condition.For luxury brands, we recommend checking current resale prices on sites such as Vestiaire Collective or Depop.Most importantly, ask yourself: “Would I buy this for this price today?”

Don't stress! It can take a little time for the right buyer to find your pieces.If your rack isn't selling as you'd hoped, take a look at your pricing, presentation and selection. Make sure your clothes are freshly laundered, pressed or steamed, free from marks and priced realistically.We also recommend giving your rack time to build traction. A minimum two-week rental gives you two weekends of Hahndorf foot traffic and more opportunity to see what is selling.You can also consider applying a discount towards the end of your rental period to help move your remaining pieces.

If you're approaching the end of your rental period or sales have slowed down, a discount can help create some extra interest and encourage those last few sales.You can apply discounts through the app. If you'd like to run a blanket percentage-off promotion, let us know and we'll provide the appropriate signage.We recommend a minimum discount of 30%, while a blanket 50% off can be particularly effective because it's simple for shoppers to understand.

When do I set up my rack?

You can set up your rack from 8:45am on the Wednesday your booking starts, before the store opens at 11am.If you can't make the set-up time, we offer set-up services. Please arrange this when making your rack reservation and drop your items into the store during opening hours in the week before your rental period.

Do you supply the coat hangers?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We provide the hangers you'll use during your rental period.This helps us maintain consistent merchandising throughout the store, so you don't need to bring your own hangers.Please leave the hangers on the rack when you pack up at the end of your rental.

Can I top up as I sell?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! We encourage you to top up your rack as your items sell.You can track your sales in real time through the app, making it easy to see when you've sold pieces and when it's time to bring in more.You can have up to 30 items on a small rack or 60 items on a large rack at any one time. Try not to overcrowd your rack, as customers need room to browse and move items easily.

How do I book a rack?

You can book your preferred date through our online live booking system.Check out How To Book Your Rack & Print Price Tickets.
You'll create an account so you can check availability in real time, make your booking and receive instant confirmation.Once you've booked, you'll be able to prepare your items and print your price tickets through the online booking system.If you'd prefer to chat with us first, you're also welcome to visit us in-store.

When do I receive the funds from selling my clothes?

At the end of your rental period, your sales income will be transferred to your nominated bank account within 7 business days.Your payment will be less the 10% commission and any applicable cost-based services, such as a pack-up service.Please make sure your bank details are entered correctly, as we cannot take responsibility for payments sent to incorrect bank details.

What happens at the end of my rental period?

Your rental period runs from Wednesday to Monday.At the end of your rental, you can pack up your rack and collect your remaining items on Monday before 5pm. If this time doesn't suit, we offer a pack-up service.Any remaining items need to be collected within 7 days of your final rental date. Items not collected within this timeframe will be considered donated to The One Preloved Fashion and may be on-sold for charity.Please remember to make a note of your rental start and end dates, as we don't have the capacity to send reminders.

Can I extend my rental period?

You can request to extend your rental period, subject to availability.If you'd like to extend your booking, please contact us as soon as possible so we can check availability for you.

Question 16

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

Accepted Answer

Rack rental fees are paid in full at the time of booking.The rental fee is non-refundable for change of mind or cancellations made within 10 days of your booking. If you need to change your booking date, 100% of the booking fee can be carried over when at least 7 days' notice is provided.If you cancel partway through an existing rental period, the remaining rental period is forfeited and no refund is provided.

Do you offer Set-Up and Pack-Up Services?

We offer both set-up and pack-up services if you'd prefer us to take care of it for you.Our set-up options include pricing, ticketing, hanging and merchandising, or a partial service where you price and tag your garments and we take care of the hanging and merchandising.We also offer a pack-up service at the end of your rental period.You can find our current service pricing on our Pricing page.
